Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Regional Main Contractor with a turnover circa £70m, operating on building contracts through commercial, education, industrial, and retail sectors. 

Job
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the execution of the Quantity Surveying function, taking the lead on a £20M+ project, in accordance with the systems and procedures of the business, in order to fulfil the requirements of the Company in maximising quality of service and profitability. The successful candidate will form part of a growing “family” team reporting to the Commercial Director, initially working on an industrial development.

Responsibilities
To maximise the success of the project for the client and contractor.
Planning and undertaking procurement of sub-contract works.
Monitoring and managing risks, change and overall project cost control to maximise profitability.
Accurate reporting of project financial performance.
Administering main contracts and sub-contracts throughout the works with knowledge of JCT forms.
Carrying out valuation of the Contractor’s and sub-contractors works to maintain positive cash flow.
Visit site as and when required.

Experience Required
We are looking for a candidate who has experience of running their own new Build Construction project of medium value.
A degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying is essential.
Experience of both JCT and NEC forms of contract would be advantageous.
Driving Licence is essential.

Remuneration
A competitive salary plus car allowance or company car.
