Financial Accountant required in the Durham area.  This opportunity is ideal for a skilled Accountant with an analytical mindset who is comfortable working across multiple cost centres. You’ll be instrumental in identifying savings and supporting strategic financial decisions.

Role
This role is integral to the financial health and efficiency of the organisation, with two primary responsibilities:

1. Cost Centre Financial Management
Oversee the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasting for a dedicated cost centre, managing its unique budget effectively.

2. Cost Analysis and Control
Analyse and interpret costs across 5 cost centres to control, rationalise, and optimise expenditure wherever feasible.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential areas for cost mitigation through detailed financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly management accounts for a specific cost centre.
Perform financial analysis by downloading data from various systems, using Excel to generate insights that drive cost-efficiency.
Investigate trends and anomalies to inform cost-saving measures.
Present findings and recommendations to senior management, supporting strategic financial decisions.
Communicate effectively with finance stakeholders of other cost centres

Experience Required
Qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience candidates are welcome to apply.
Monthly management accounts experience for a department or cost centre.
Proven track record in financial analysis, with the ability to synthesize data from different sources and create actionable insights.
Advanced Excel skills for data handling and analysis.

Remuneration
£35,000 – £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hybrid working arrangement available after the probation period, providing flexibility and work-life balance.
