Design Manager (MEP)

Role
As an MEP Design Manager, you will be pivotal in coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) design information for construction projects from inception through to completion. Your responsibilities will include:

Evaluating MEP packages during the tender stage to ensure designs align with project scope.
Supporting the sequencing and programming of the installation phase.
Chairing meetings to resolve issues and develop technical solutions.
Reviewing and commenting on MEP designs.
Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
Overseeing adherence to designs during the commissioning stage.

Key Responsibilities:
Assess MEP design packages to ensure they meet project requirements.
Develop and manage the sequencing and programming of MEP installations.
Facilitate and lead meetings to address and resolve technical issues.
Provide expert commentary on MEP designs and suggest improvements.
Ensure all MEP designs comply with relevant statutory regulations.
Monitor the commissioning phase to ensure designs are implemented correctly.

Experience and Qualifications
A relevant qualification in Building Services or a related field.
Extensive technical knowledge and experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health services within buildings.
Strong project management and coordination skills, including the logical sequencing of activities and timescales for construction programs.
Ability to critically evaluate consultancy and subcontractor designs.
Some commercial awareness within design.
